2025 Annual Report
Summary:
In 2025, OurJourney significantly deepened its impact across North Carolina by expanding both the scale and reach of its reentry support. Through our First Aid Reentry Kit and Home Plan Assistance programs, we served more people than ever before, distributing 1,755 reentry kits and helping hundreds of returning citizens prepare for stable transitions home. Our leadership also visited 16 correctional facilities statewide to share reentry resources, highlight state and local reentry efforts, and listen directly to individuals preparing for release.
Key milestones included completing reentry resource guides for all 100 North Carolina counties, which became the most visited pages on our website, and launching MyJourney, North Carolina’s first free reentry support app, downloaded more than 1,700 times in its first year. We also introduced a First Aid Reentry Kit for Women in partnership with Arise Collective and expanded collaborations with state agencies, local organizations, and national partners.
With continued growth in program delivery, partnerships, and financial capacity, 2025 positioned OurJourney for the future. The organization began development of ViRSE, a groundbreaking virtual reentry simulation, while strengthening its commitment to building safer, more supportive communities where second chances lead to lasting opportunity.
