Executive Director
Brian Scott
Brian served 20 years in prison before being released in February of 2021. He founded OurJourney one year later.

Brian grew up in Asheville, North Carolina, and currently lives in Albemarle, a nice little town 30 miles outside of Charlotte. He enjoys Tar Heel basketball, graphic design and dark chocolate peanut butter cups from Trader Joe's.

Director of Essential Services
Tanisha Reed
Tanisha oversees OurJourney's Essential Services program which offers life-skill instruction and ongoing mentorship for any returning citizen in North Carolina (male or female).
She lives in Zebulon with her husband and their eight "fur babies," as she affectionately calls her pets. She enjoys traveling, cooking, gardening and giving back to the community.

Chief Operating Officer
Justin Moore
Justin Moore served nearly 13 years in prison before being released in August of 2019. Until recently, he worked as the Assistant Director at Redemption Place, a Rocky Mount transition home for men, and continues to volunteer there.
Justin enjoys freshwater fishing, video games and Strawberry Shortcake Blizzards from Dairy Queen. His wife Billie Jo is an OurJourney volunteer.

Director of Reentry Council Partnerships
Lewis Whitmire
Lewis served 6 years in prison before being released in February of 2019.

In addition to overseeing our Reentry Council partnerships across the state, Lewis manages our First Aid Reentry Kit Distribution Center in Conover and also provides IT support.
