The OurJourney First Aid Reentry Kit, packaged in a colorful reusable box, contains up to five items:
- "What to Expect: Your First Days Free", a booklet full of encouragement, tips and proven strategies for success written by former prisoners (5.5" x 8.5", 48 pages)
- A Reentry Resource Guide, full of contact information for ministries, organizations, agencies and businesses located in the county of the returning citizen (8.5" x 11", 10-20 pages depending on county)
- A NC DMV Driver Handbook (if needed)
- An OurJourney T-Shirt in appropriate size and
- A gift card for two meals at participating restaurants (may vary).
We also include inside each kit a "welcome home" letter and a stamped postcard each returning citizen can fill out and send back to us so we can keep up with him and receive feedback about the kit.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When you proceed to Checkout, you should enter your own address for Shipping Information, but all First Aid Reentry Kits are shipped by OurJourney to the appropriate facility no later than 4 days before the release of the prisoner.
OurJourney First Aid Reentry Kit FULL Sponsorship
The OurJourney First Aid Reentry Kit is available ONLY for male prisoners being released from North Carolina prisons. All Nash Correctional Instituion prisoners returning to freedom will receive one automatically on their release dates. Availability for prisoners at other facilities is on a case-by-case basis. Case managers at other facilities in NC are invited to contact OurJourney.
